Career Profile

Rico’s professional career in Boston has been in nonprofit event management.

She is most proud of producing the Boston Premier performance of Kabuki at the Emerson Majestic Theatre during the Centennial Celebration of the Japan Society of Boston (2004) and for running the US-Japan Youth Baseball Exchange Program at the Red Sox Foundation. Baseball, like music, is an international language and this being the central theme of the exchange program is the reason Rico fell in love with baseball and its strong powers to connect people beyond borders and language barriers. At the Foundation, she runs the New England Red Sox Service Scholarship, MA Little League Initiative, Monster Mash and donated tickets program. Rico received her Bachelor’s degree from Sophia University in Tokyo and her Master’s degree in International Relations and International Communications from Boston University.
