RED SOX FOUNDATION ADDS RELAY RACE OPTION TO FRIDAY’S FENWAY PARK MARATHON

Registration Still Open for Relay Teams of up to Eight People

BOSTON, MA – For the second year in a row, the Red Sox Foundation will host a marathon race inside Fenway Park this Friday, August 24. This year’s 26.2 mile marathon also includes a relay race option for teams of up to eight people – roughly the equivalent of a 5K for eight runner. There are still slots available for those interested in registering a relay race team by emailing redsoxfoundation@redsox.com.

The Fenway Park Marathon is a certified 26.2 mile race consisting of 113 laps around the ballpark’s warning track. The race is an official qualifier for the Boston Marathon. Runners have a minimum fundraising requirement of $5,000 by December 15, 2018.  Proceeds benefit the Red Sox Foundation, whose charitable activities focus on improving health, educational, and recreational opportunities for children, veterans, and families.
