The Run to Home Base presented by New Balance is a unique 9K run and 2.5 mile walk through scenic Boston ending with a once-in-a-lifetime experience of finishing the race by crossing Fenway’s famed home plate. Friends and family watch participants from the stands at Fenway, with food, entertainment and fun family activities in the concourses of America’s Most Beloved Ballpark. The run honors heroic veterans and helped raise much needed funds for Home Base, a Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Program.

One in three Veterans return with an invisible wound of war such as post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, depression, anxiety, co-occurring substance use disorder, or military sexual trauma. Home Base serves as a beacon of hope to these veterans and their families, providing treatment and innovative wellness programs at no cost to the patient. 100% of the funds raised go to supporting the mission of Home Base: to heal the invisible wounds of war for Veterans, Service Members and their Families through world-class clinical care, wellness, education and research.
